Gabion refers to PVC coating on zinc coating wire fabric containers that comes in variable sizes with rocks filling to form a permanent structure.
Gabion Mattresses serves as a retaining wall, providing various prevention and protection works such as landslide prevention, erosion and scour protection as well as various type of hydraulic and coastal protection for river, sea and channel protection. This Gabion Mattress System is made up of a specially designed composite in order to maximize its performance through three phases of vegetative process from unvegetated to vegetation establishment up to vegetation maturation.

Lacing wire: 2.2mm, 5% of gabion weight
Surface zinc coating: 225, 245, 275g/m2, according to EN10224-2

a. Hot-dipped galvanized , Mass of Zinc Coating , Up to 300g/m2
b. PVC Coated Mattresses and gabion baskets are also available with a 0.5mm nominal thickness P.V.C. coating to enhance the
resistance of the baskets to corrosion of the wire mesh. This provides a overall increase in diameter of 1mm to all wires used in
the manufacturing process.
